The roots of kettlebell training come from Russia. The word kettlebell, mentioned sometime in the 17th century, was used to refer to a counterweight used for weighing in farms and markets. A few years later, Russian farmers created a counterweight competition to measure their strength. After the 19th century, an article in the popular fitness magazine Herkules described the kettlebell as an effective weight loss tool. About 40 years after that, kettlebell lifting became a national sport in the Soviet Union. Competitors competed in strongman competitions. Olympic athletes, soldiers, powerlifters, and many other athletes have incorporated kettlebells into their fitness routines. In the 70s, this sport became a registered sport with specific rules, classifications, etc.
The kettlebell is a very effective training tool that improves stability, mobility, core strength, overall body strength, and functionality. Of course, as always, the first priority is safety and correct execution (for which it is best to consult a professional trainer). Soon my online book will also be available, in which you will find exercises with descriptions, training, and everything you need to carry out kettlebell training.
I wish you a pleasant sporty afternoon,
Your trainer Gina
